Project 5: Retail Communications Brief

For Project 5 we were asked to think of 3 interactive advertisements for either New Look, Comet or B&Q and create a story board of locations and the a board of the final 3 concepts. I chose New look and my locations we a building in working progress, a bus and a bus stop which would flash through different trends/ ranges, celebrity endorsments, offers etc and to create a huge canvas adertisment to cover a building whilst under construction.

Project 4: Fashion Photogrpahy and Digital media production

For project 4 we all got put into groups and all got a different designer to make an advertisment for a specefic magazine. My group got Vivienne Weswtood for POP magazine. This was my favourite project of the whole year and we had a lot of fun creating are photoshoot. For this project we went to workshops with fashion photographer Jaqueline Callaghan were we all got taught about how lighting is extremley important and weird angles that work well in high fashion photography. We also had to research into difffernt photographers and we based are work around Juergen Teller. Who happend to create the Vivienne Westwood campaign that involved Pamela Anderson and he also produces the photos for Marc Jacobs.

This was are inspiration. We created a Vivienne Westwood party including a paint splattered wall, twister, ballons, champagne, wild garments and even widler models! We did the photoshop with over exposed lighting and had loud music playing so it wasn't fake and didnt look fake. This is what we created

Project 3: Digital Photogrpahy and Adobe Photoshop

For this project we were asked to take 20 photos and play around with camera settings, lighting. settings, times of the day etc. Just to get used to a camera and what different effects they have. Through doing this i no alot more about photography and what would look good for a specific photoshoot. After this we were asked to choose 5 photos and edit them slightly so they look proffesional and higher quality, similar to that of a photo in a fashion magazine. These are the 5 photos i chose and edited.

Project 2 : Create a Creative Brief

For project 2 i had to create a creative brief with my own company name, logo etc with all the correct titles and essentials...this is what i created.

I simply came up with the name of my 'company' by combining the initials of my name and added a floral design in the background to give it a proffesional yet exciting appeal.

Part 2 of this project was to fill in the creative brief with information for Ted Baker for new advertising.

Project 1: Magazine Feature Article

For this project i had to select a feature article from a fashion/art magazine and recreate it, step 2 of this was to then make appropriate changes to the magazine article to improve it, if needed.
I chose LOVE magazine, as i thought it was quite under rated for its quality. LOVE magazine focus's on Fashion and Fame and has very high quality photography. The feature article i chose was based on Kaya Scodelario who plays Effy Stonem on Skins.

Today i scanned my images into photoshop and cropped out unecessary sections, i also used the spot healing brush tool to discard the fashion writing in the cornor of my images. Then i spilt my page in to three coloums on InDesign and tried to get the nearest font possible to match the original article. I managed to get a font that was very close to the original for the article text and the subtitle, however i couldnt get the font for the main tittle, so chose the nearest match possible.

The second page of my article was fairly simple as it's a A4 image, so all i had to do was scan the image in remove the writing, crop it slightly and re type the fashion information in the right hand corner.

Again with the thrid and last page of my article i edited the photograph and placed it in InDesign, then created three coloumns and fitted in the text with adjustments to font size.

For the re-make of the article i changed the title font as i thought a more childlike font would be sutible for the title 'The Naughty Little Sister' i also set it further so it was more clear. The 2ndrd page i kept the same as i liked the size and felt there was nothing that needed changing. In addition i changed the photo on the 3rd page to a more central postion as i thought it made the page look more busy and interesting.
